Head- Corporate Outreach & Placements
The core requirement is to build corporate relationships that result in real placements for our students. We require our industry network developed entirely in-house with zero reliance on placement agencies and third-party intermediaries. A non-university background is acceptable, as long as the individual can open doors and deliver outcomes.
KEY OUTCOMES
– Own all corporate relationships — CXOs, hiring managers, and BU heads — across sectors like consulting, finance, tech, and design
– Secure internships, live projects, and final placements — quality and role relevance over volume
– Organise employer-facing events, roundtables, and placement fairs — lead these end to end
– Build long-term partnerships beyond annual hiring: research collaborations, visiting practitioners, industry-led projects
– Set up a proper outreach system (CRM, tracking, follow-ups) so this does not remain personality-dependent
– Feed hiring trends and skill demand insights back to academic leadership on a structured basis
– Develop internship pipelines and ensure conversion to full-time roles
– Collaborate with academic departments for industry-linked programs
BACKGROUNDS WE ARE OPEN TO
– Corporate partnerships or BD — someone who has built industry relationships and driven outcomes from them
– Senior recruitment or talent acquisition — ideally mid-to-senior hiring; understands how companies evaluate candidates
– Consulting or industry roles — strong personal network, credibility in senior corporate settings
– University placements — top-tier institutions preferred, but not mandatory if the other criteria are met
NON-NEGOTIABLES
– Must have proven access to senior decision-makers — not just mid-level HR contacts
– Must be comfortable building this function from scratch, without agency or vendor shortcuts
– Must think in partnerships, not transactions — we want repeat relationships, not one-time drives
– Must be execution-oriented — able to manage fairs, events, and outreach without heavy support staff
WHAT THIS ROLE IS NOT
● Not student training.
● Not resume workshops or interview prep.
● Not a placement coordinator who calls agencies.
● This person is an industry-facing relationship builder who represents the university.
HOW WE MEASURE SUCCESS:
– Quality and brand of companies recruiting from us has gone up
– Average compensation and role relevance has improved
– Relationships extend beyond placements — projects, practitioners, and institutional partnerships
– A core set of companies return the following year without being chased
– Average compensation and role relevance continuous on an upward trajectory
