We are committed to providing a holistic university experience for both students and staff, ensuring that everyone has access to essential resources and programs that empower them to thrive.

SERVICES OFFERED

The Wellness Centre at Vidyashilp University provides psychological support for students and staff. A qualified and experienced counselling psychologist will provide services in a completely confidential setting.
These may include:

Understanding the difficulties they are experiencing

Devising an action plan to address their concerns.

Enhancing their self-awareness.

Helping them develop resilience and enable them to achieve their academic and personal goals.


We are dedicated to offering personalized support to help you navigate your mental health journey effectively. The counsellor will address issues such as stress, depression, anxiety, academic difficulties, family and relationship problems, body image concerns, bullying, gender/sexual identity concerns, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, substance abuse, and so on.

To schedule an appointment with a counsellor you can fill an online form. Alternatively, if it's urgent please feel free to walk in to meet the counsellor directly or reach out to the coordinators.We have a Psychologist on campus to provide face to face counselling services. In addition, if you want to consult outside VU Wellness Centre, feel free to access our list of additional resources.

Yes, as mentioned in the previous page, confidentiality is a top priority in our mental health services. Information shared with counsellors, therapists, or mental health professionals is kept strictly confidential, except in cases where there is a risk of harm to oneself or others, or as required by law.

Counselling or therapy sessions typically involve discussing your concerns, feelings, and experiences in a supportive and nonjudgmental environment. Your therapist will work with you to explore issues, develop coping strategies, and set goals for your mental health and well-being.

The number of counselling sessions may vary depending on individual needs and circumstances. Some students may benefit from short-term counselling, while others may require ongoing support. Your counsellor will work with you to determine the most appropriate treatment plan for your situation.

If you are experiencing a mental health crisis or emergency, please contact our Wellness Centre immediately or seek assistance from a group of faculty, staff and student volunteers of the Wellness Centre. We have protocols in place to provide prompt support and assistance in such situations.

Absolutely! We provide resources and workshops on stress management, mindfulness, relaxation techniques, time management, and other skills to promote mental well-being and resilience. Additionally, our Wellness Centre offers self-help materials, books and online resources for students to access at any time.

If you are concerned about a friend or peer, you can encourage them to seek help at our Wellness Centre or accompany them to an appointment. Listen non-judgmentally, offer support and empathy, and encourage them to take care of themselves. You can also refer them to resources available on campus.
