The Millennium Fellowship is an exclusive leadership development program that targets undergraduate students who are passionate about making a positive social impact. The fellowship is being organised by the United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI) and the MCN (Millennium Campus Network) to empower young leaders to implement the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in their respective local areas.
The program offers leadership, social impact, and project execution structured training to fellows. The chosen students collaborate on a social impact project, in line with one or more SDGs, including quality education, good health and well-being, gender equality, or climate action, under mentorship, peer support, and exposure to the world. The fellowship focuses on community-based solutions and ethical leadership and impact.
The Millennium Fellowship assists students in turning ideas into action through workshops, networking and exposure to a global community of changemakers. Upon program completion, the fellows are turned out as socially conscious leaders who are ready to apply the skills, attitude, and confidence needed to make a positive impact in society and create sustainable change in both local and global society.
At the heart of the Buddies for Badlav project lies a simple yet powerful goal: transforming waste segregation habits in nearby paying guest (PG) accommodations. This ongoing initiative brings together residents and PG owners to tackle low awareness around separating dry, wet, and sanitary waste, fostering a culture of sustainability right where people live and thrive. By prioritising education and practical support, we're igniting a community-wide shift toward cleaner, greener living spaces.
Early feedback highlights residents' growing enthusiasm and understanding, signalling real potential for lasting impact. As we continue expanding outreach and refining our strategies, Buddies for Badlav stands as a beacon for grassroots environmental action—proving that small, collective steps can lead to big change. Join us in this journey toward a more responsible tomorrow.

The Quality Education for Rural Bihar project is an ongoing effort to bridge critical gaps in foundational learning for underprivileged children in rural Bihar. By partnering closely with village communities, we identify and address barriers that keep students from mastering essential academic basics—unlocking pathways to entrance-based educational opportunities. This grassroots initiative emphasizes structured support through free tuition centres, blending activity-based learning, regular assessments, and incentives to spark engagement and consistency.
Expanded from two to four centers during our recent fellowship phase, the project now empowers 100-120 students while fostering trust with families to boost retention and awareness. Despite ongoing challenges like attendance, our community-driven refinements are creating sustainable, inclusive learning environments. Together, we're laying the groundwork for brighter futures—one child, one village at a time.
