Biography

MD Pallavi is an acclaimed interdisciplinary artist with a dual academic foundation in Humanities and Hindustani Classical Music from Benares Hindu University. Her artistic lineage is rooted in rigorous training under masters such as Pt. Ram Rao Naik and the Ananthaswamys, complemented by international film studies at Gothenburg University. A versatile performer, she has earned the Karnataka State Film Award for playback singing and the Aryabhatta Best Actress Award for her work in television. Beyond the stage, her cinematic expertise as a filmmaker has garnered prestigious international honors, including the Grand Jury Award at IFFLA. Whether through her award-winning solo theatre productions like C Sharp C Blunt or her global musical collaborations, she seamlessly blends classical rigor with contemporary storytelling. In recognition of her significant cultural impact, she was honored with the Kempegowda Award by the Government of Karnataka.
