Madhuri Rao is an artist, researcher and pedagogue based out of Bangalore. Her current research questions the future of art practice and the evolving conditions of lived experience under the pervasive influence of mediating technologies. Through her philosophical and artistic explorations, she investigates the performative nature of sound and other new media, its demands on durational engagement and its transmission to a viewer-participant. Madhuri has had over twelve years of work experience in the arts, and is currently an Adjunct Faculty at Vidyashilp University teaching studio courses in design and art practice. She was formerly a faculty member of Srishti-Manipal Institute of Art Design and Technology and was previously an Assistant Curator for both the National Gallery of Modern Art in Bengaluru and the Bhau Daji Lad Museum in Mumbai.
