The Bachelor of Technology (Hons.) in Computer Science and Engineering (AI/ML) is a four-year program that focuses on developing expertise in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML). This undergraduate honours program in AI/ML is designed to equip students with both the theoretical foundations as well as the practical skills needed to become successful professionals in this exciting and most impactful technology of the 21st century. Through a blend of AI, computer science, mathematics, data science, and ethics & philosophy, students learn to build intelligent systems for the future society. The core curriculum balances foundational areas of computer science with basics of AI including Deep Learning, Reinforcement Learning, and Natural Language Processing. In addition, the students have the opportunity to pursue minors in diverse fields such as Economics, Marketing, Psychology, Finance, Design, and Law

The program offers flexibility to the students to specialize into different subareas through a well designed bouquet of elective courses. The students can exercise their choice to focus on advanced AI/ML algorithms including Probabilistic Graphical Models, Bayesian Methods in Machine Learning, Generative AI, Multi-Modal Learning etc., or focus on AI systems development by doing courses on Full Stack Development, Backend Systems and API Development, Big Data Analytics, and Mobile Application Development.

Program Overview
Year-1

Acquire a robust foundation in Mathematics and Computer Science by learning topics such as Calculus, Linear Algebra, Data Structures and Programming, analytical problem solving skills etc.

Year-2

Gain a good background in Computer Science by learning topics such as Computer Organization, Algorithms and advanced programmig concepts. Get a good understanding of the field by learning basics of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, statistical methods, and Data Analysis techniques.

Year-3

Dive deeper into AI/ ML by studying topics such as Deep Learning, Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing, ML System Development, Cloud Computing etc.

Year-4

Acquire good technical competencies through advanced elective courses, Capstone Project and industry internships.

Internships

Experiential learning is at the heart of the B.Tech. (Hons.) in Computer Science & Engineering (AI/ML) program at Vidyashilp University. In addition to internships, students engage in interdisciplinary projects that span psychology, economics, design, marketing, finance, and law—enhancing their ability to integrate technical skills with domain-specific knowledge. Eligibility

National/State Boards

(CBSE / ISC / STATE BOARDS / NIOS / EQUIVALENT EXAMINATIONS)

  • Passed 10+2 examination with Overall 50% with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the subjects - Chemistry / Computer Science / Electronics / Information Technology / Biology / Informatics Practices / Biotechnology / Technical Vocational Subjects / Agriculture / Engineering Graphics / Business Studies / Entrepreneurship.
  • Obtained at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the above three subjects taken together.
  • OR
  • Passed minimum 3 years Diploma examination with at least 50% marks
    (45% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) subject to vacancies in the First Year, in case the vacancies at lateral entry are exhausted.
IB
  • English, Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / Computer Science or any other technical vocational subject* as optional subject (preferably Mathematics and Physics at HL level).
  • IB Diploma or IB Certificate with minimum average of 4 points for Physics, Mathematics and any optional subject* with overall minimum of 24 points.
  • Minimum 3 subjects in HL and 3 subjects in SL.

*Technical vocational subject must be related to Chemical / Civil / Computer / Electrical / Mechanical streams.

A Level
  • Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / Computer Science or any technical vocational subject* as an optional subject in the 'A' Levels and English in the 'AS' / IGCSE/ GCSE.
  • Minimum grade required is an average of 'D' grade in Physics, Mathematics and any one of the optional subjects.

*Technical vocational subject must be related to Chemical / Civil / Computer / Electrical / Mechanical streams.

IBCP Equivalence for Engineering
  • Students graduating with 03 DP subjects (Maths, Physics, Chemistry / other similar subjects) with at least 01 subject at HL Level and minimum 03 points in each DP Subject.
  • Career Related Study (CRS) with at least 03 subjects.
  • International Baccalaureate Career Related Study (IBCP) qualification with core components requirement awarded by IB.
  • Required equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

QUALIFYING EXAMS FOR B. TECH (HONS.)

ADMISSION is KCET / JEE Mains / COMEDK / CUET and other State Level Entrance Examination (Eg.: CETs of Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra...).
Eligibility criteria for engineering is based on AICTE & KCET requirement.
