Biography

Dr. Rajkumar Darbar is a Human–Computer Interaction (HCI) researcher specializing in Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), and immersive interactive systems. His work focuses on designing novel interaction techniques and collaborative experiences for spatial computing environments. He obtained his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Inria Bordeaux and the University of Bordeaux, France, and subsequently worked as a postdoctoral researcher at CNRS, Paris.

Throughout his doctoral and postdoctoral research, he developed and evaluated immersive AR/VR systems that explore new ways for people to interact, collaborate, and communicate in extended reality (XR) environments. His projects include collaborative VR platforms for scientific visualization, VR training applications for skill development, interaction techniques for AR/VR productivity tasks, and projection- based spatial augmented reality systems that extend interaction beyond head-mounted displays. He has also worked on wearable and electronics-based interaction prototypes, including smartwatch and smart- ring interfaces. His research has been published at leading HCI venues, including ACM CHI, IEEE VR, SUI, INTERACT, MUM, GI, and NordiCHI. He has also served as a reviewer for international conferences such as ACM CHI, IEEE VR, SUI, VRST, and INTERACT.
