As the today’s generation is powered by AI and work from anywhere concept, the management and business education need to evolve to fit in the current context. Given the world moving towards digitization and AI, the traditional teaching methods would become obsolete and on the other hand this may call for teaching various significant aspects to student cohorts like EI (Emotional Intelligence), change management and strategic thinking to cope up with the changing AI powered environment.
Redesigning Core Curriculum :
Owing to digitisation, students should be made skilled in becoming agile and more digital literates and apt/ethical decision makers. While our foundation basket comprising of Finance or HR subjects still remains relevant, but we should focus on interdisciplinary teaching methods involving human cantered AI, or humanizing AI automation. Examples …. courses based on Practising Ethics in Blockchain or using AI.
Emphasis on Virtual Team Leadership :
Leadership in virtual arena requires a different skillset for instance leadership should focus on inclusion, two-way open communication and building rapport and trust with the employees. Examples like digital collaboration tools, asynchronous communication strategies, and remote team dynamics must become staples of MBA programs.
Focus on Continuous Life Long Learning Methods:
We need to focus more on continuous and long-term learning environment for our business and management students. Students need to made understood that learning needs to be lifelong and that it’s not an overnight journey. We need to make ties with education technology platforms and offer short term courses on hot topics like Artificial Intelligence Ethics or Managing Gig Economy.
Market Ready for both-Ethical as well as Social Challenges :
Automation has brought a lot of challenges of job cuts and equity imbalance, which needs to be handled by management education by offering courses on ethical led leadership. Balancing technology penetration with welfare of employees still intact should be focus of our business education. -building frameworks to provide equal opportunities to remote work options – Building leaders who can balance the human and technological intervention together-----
