Mr. V.S.L. Narayana Maddala has four decades of distinguished experience in the academia, government and IT Industry in India and abroad (Botswana and Zambia). He held several prestigious leadership positions, including Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Senior Vice President (ICT) for over 13 years at National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM), an institution established by Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) and Chief Technology Consultant at National Centre for Financial Education (NCFE) established by RBI, SEBI, IRDAI & PFRDA. He also served the Government of Botswana as Chief Systems Analyst in the Department of Information Technology, Gaborone for over 13 years.

While working in the Industry and Government, Mr. Maddala also served many academic institutions as Adjunct Faculty/Professor of Practice for over 14 years, including the University of Botswana (Gaborone) and a few engineering colleges under Mumbai University. He brings a wealth of teaching experience in many contemporary subjects of Computer Science and Data Science.

Mr. Maddala set up the IT Department and spearheaded the entire technology growth over a decade at the National Institute of Securities Market (NISM) from scratch. He successfully led many large-scale Information and Communication Technology projects, including greenfield development of campus-wide IT Infrastructure, applications and a Data Centre at 70 Acre campus of NISM in Patalganga, Navi Mumbai; a country-wide system for certification of Market Intermediries operating in the Securities Market; Digital Transformation initiatives funded by RBI, SEBI, IRDAI and PFRDA in the Financial Literacy domain and several key Government-wide applications under e-Governance initiatives of the Government of Botswana.

Mr. Maddala also successfully led IT enabled automation studies in many domains, including Civil Aviation, Public Service Management, Education, Finance & Accounts, Transportation and Police Service for the Government of Botswana in collaboration with countries like South Africa, Dubai and Singapore.

He also served as a member of many prestigious Technical Advisory Committees, including the Technical Advisory Committee of NISM, Technical Advisory Committee of NCFE and the Technical Advisory Committee of IRDAI. He was the Chief Editor of “Smart News” – an IT Bulletin of the Government of Botswana for several years.

Mr. Maddala brings with him a rich and unique blend of Academic and Global Industry experience useful for strengthening the industry-academia collaboration.
