Biography

Dr. Jyotsna Rosario is an Assistant Professor of Economics at Vidyashilp University (VU). Before joining VU, she worked as the Research Manager of the Tamil Nadu Household Panel Survey Project at Madras Institute of Development Studies, Chennai. She holds a Ph.D from the Madras School of Economics, University of Madras. Her doctoral research examines critical concerns related to public elementary education in Indian states, which hinder the successful implementation of the Right to Education Act. She also holds a Master of Philosophy (M.Phil) degree in Economics from Ranchi University, Ranchi, and a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Economics from Loyola College, Chennai. Her M.Phil dissertation examined the interlinkages between income inequality and educational inequality in Indian states. Her main research areas are the economics of education, developmental economics, and public finance. Prior to her Ph.D, she taught undergraduate courses in economics.
