About SC/ST Cell

The SC/ST Cell at Vidyashilp University is dedicated to supporting students from Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST), ensuring a fair and inclusive academic environment. The cell actively works to address grievances, promote awareness, and advocate for equal opportunities within the university community.

The UGC-GOI vide D.O. letter No. 1-2/2024(SCT/Circular) dated 10th January 2025 requested for establishment of SC/ST Cells in Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs), and the submission of requisite information, as per the directive of the Hon’ble Supreme Court in a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) and that the University Grants Commission (UGC) is in the process of collecting data on the implementation of the UGC (Promotion of Equity in Higher Educational Institutions) Regulations, 2012.

Key functions of the SC/ST Cell include:

  • Grievance Redressal: Providing a structured process to address academic, financial, and social concerns.
  • Awareness & Sensitization: Organizing programs to foster inclusivity and educate the university community.
  • Student Support & Advocacy: Ensuring policies safeguard the rights and dignity of SC/ST students.
